"Elektra, My Love" is an 89-minute film released in 2021. It features a kammerspiel-film format and is set within the ruins of the Piccadilly Theater in Beirut. This once-extravagant art palace was destroyed during the Lebanese Civil War. The film focuses on five actresses and their three-day attempt to revive the theater with an experimental production of Sophocles' Elektra. Through my writing and directing of this film, I aimed to showcase the stark reality of Beirut's people, who have suffered for decades due to war. I wanted to offer my own interpretation of the soul's journey through this dreamlike depiction.
