Dominic Joseph Catrambone (born March 16, 1976, in Chicago, IL) is an American voice actor, voice-over artist, and acting coach. He has brought to life numerous characters in animated series, cartoons, animated films, anime dubs, and video games. He is best known for voicing Leonardo in Nickelodeon's 2012 TMNT series, as well as in multiple video games including Apple Arcade's TMNT: Splintered Fate, the 2013 Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, and the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze. Additionally, he voiced Sulk, Kevin, Fan, Night Mare, Ow the Dentist, and Cave Teen in Dawn of the Croods, Micro-Ice in the animated series Galactik Football, and originated the signature voice of Disney XD.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Dominic attended St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, from 1990 until his graduation in 1994. He then studied Biology/Pre-Med and Marketing at Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois. In 1996, he enrolled at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts West in Los Angeles, graduating in 1998 with a focus on Acting and Theatre.
From 1999 to 2004, he worked at Hard Rock Cafe International in Universal City, California.
For over twenty years, Dominic has lent his voice to hundreds of commercials, promos, trailers, video game characters, animated cartoons, movies, and anime dubs, as well as providing ADR, narration, and live announcing, primarily based in Los Angeles. His voice has been featured in numerous national radio and TV campaigns, commercials, video games, promos, and other projects. Formerly, he produced, directed, and performed in independent films and stage productions while running his youth theatre educational company, Discovery Onstage. He is represented by Atlas Talent in New York and Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife and children. Dominic is happily married to Lindsey Alena Catrambone, also a voice-over artist, and they enjoy traveling—always bringing their recording equipment along.
Over his career, Dominic has performed, produced, and directed dozens of film, television, and stage projects. As a seasoned voice-over artist, he has contributed to thousands of commercials, promos, trailers, video games, and animated series. His commercial work includes brand voice campaigns for Mitsubishi Motors, Ross, Little Debbie, Chef Boyardee, McDonald's, and Kellogg's Froot Loops, where he is known as "Jelly the Jellyfish." He voiced Leonardo, the blue-masked Ninja Turtle leader, during the final eight episodes of Nickelodeon's 3D animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 2 in 2014, temporarily replacing Jason Biggs before Seth Green took over for Seasons 3-5. He also had a recurring role on DreamWorks/Netflix's original series Dawn of the Croods from December 2015 to July 2017.
Dominic served as the signature voice for Disney XD for five years and continued as the English voice for Disney XD Southeast Asia. His voice has been heard in promos for CBS, FOX, HBO, HBO Films, FOX Soccer, Fox Movie Channel, HGTV, and CBS radio. He has narrated projects for EPIC, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Digimon Fusion, The Grinch, Screenvision, and Pearl Izumi. In 2013, he was the live announcer for Fox's Teen Choice Awards.
His extensive commercial credits include brand voice campaigns for Genesis, Mitsubishi Motors, Ross (spring/summer teen spots), Little Debbie, Chef Boyardee, Cellular One, Zicam Cold and Flu, Gamefly, and Chevron ExtraMile. He is also recognized as "Jelly the Jellyfish" for Kellogg's Froot Loops.
In animation, interactive media, and ADR, Dominic has collaborated with industry leaders such as Andrea Romano, Sam Riegel, Chris Borders, Doug Carrigan, Keythe Farley, Ginny McSwain, and Jamie Mortellaro. He has voiced characters in numerous video games and is noted for his voice-matching abilities, imitating actors like Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Keanu Reeves, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Jason Biggs. He portrayed Micro-Ice in the UK series Galactik Football and voiced characters including Ashuramaru and Commander Sazabi in the popular SD Gundam series.
Alongside his acting career, Dominic is dedicated to teaching young performers. He co-founded DiscoveryOnstage, a youth theatre education company that launched the theatre department at Providence High School and offers after-school programs, summer acting camps, high school drama electives, stage combat workshops, and customized school programs. He remains on staff as a Musical Theatre Director at Providence High School in Burbank. He has taught voice-over, scene study, improv, monologue preparation, theater production, stage combat, and audition techniques, directing students in over a dozen main stage productions. His teaching experience includes work with Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts, Glendale Center Theatre, and Centre Stage, Inc. Residing in Burbank, Los Angeles, with his wife Lindsey and their children, Dominic continues to work as a voice actor and voice-over artist across commercials, promos, trailers, animation, video games, and live announcing.
