Biography
Adam Boyer was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and had skates on his feet as soon as he could walk. Hockey was his first passion. When his family relocated to Atlanta, a devastating change occurred—winter vanished, taking hockey with it. The South’s closest alternative was soccer. Fully dedicating himself to the sport, he played through high school, college, and professionally in two countries. Realizing he wouldn’t become the next Lionel Messi, he turned to another passion.
In the late 1980s, he began acting at Georgia State University. By the mid-1990s, he joined Atlanta’s Warehouse Actor's Theatre, becoming the first student in the school's history to earn his thesis there. In 1997, he landed his first lead role as Burton Bomhoff in the feature film The Reel Reason. Since then, his film credits include Solace, Safe Haven, ATL, Halloween 2, The Change Up, Looper, and Sully. His television appearances include The Game, One Tree Hill, Necessary Roughness, Homeland, Revolution, Resurrection, Nashville, Sleepy Hollow, Powers, Ozark, and The Walking Dead. He is perhaps best known for his role as Sergeant First Class Leon Wisniewski, or "Ski," on the Lifetime hit series Army Wives.
Most recently, he completed work on a new series called Ozark, starring Jason Bateman, which is set to premiere on Netflix in the summer of 2017.
