Biography
MAX BORGHETTI
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic with Italian heritage, Max Borghetti, also known as FRNDS, was born on April 2, 1998. At eight months old, he was diagnosed with a condition affecting his ability to walk. To address this, he underwent surgeries and physical therapy at the Shriners Hospital for Children in collaboration with the Ronald McDonald House & Charities Foundation in Springfield, Massachusetts, for over a decade.
Max is the son of Massimo Borghetti, a well-known actor and television host famous for his role as Giuseppe, the director of Bávaro Beach Hotels and Genaro's childhood friend in the popular Dominican film series "Sanky Panky." His mother, María Kelly, is a chef featured in the book "Cocina ConCiencia Contra el Cáncer," a solidarity project from the University of Seville, Spain. The book includes recipes from 99 chefs worldwide, several Michelin-starred, such as Javier Cabrera, Juan Mari Arzak, Quique D'Acosta, Dani García, and TV chef Pepe Rodríguez. It also has support from notable figures like Academy Award-nominated Spanish actor Antonio Banderas.
In 2017, Max Borghetti, under the alias FRNDS, released an official remix of the hit song "2U" by David Guetta & Justin Bieber, which has amassed nearly 6 million streams on Spotify and views on YouTube.
He has released original tracks through major music labels including ShowLand / Armada Music, Parlophone France / Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment Korea, and Universal Music Group [UMG] / Def Jam & Metanoia Music [MM].
Max is the first Dominican producer to create an original electronic track entirely in Spanish titled “Solo Te Pido (I Love You Yaliz Marie)” under his own name.
His work has gained support from prominent DJs and artists such as Justin Bieber, David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Armin van Buuren, Swanky Tunes, Cash Cash, Cesqeaux, Daddy's Groove, Gabry Ponte, DJ Juicy M, Poo Bear, Giorgio Tuinfort, and Jaxx & Vega.
Additionally, Max has contributed to international films and TV series including Netflix’s "Luis Miguel: La Serie," "La Casa de las Flores," Sony Pictures’ "La Boda de Mi Mejor Amigo," and Disney Media Distribution’s "El Secreto de Selena" for Telemundo.
He wrote and directed his debut film, “Quebranto,” the first Dominican short film addressing bullying, starring actress, model, and former Miss Dominican Republic 2012, Dulcita Lieggi. The film was co-directed with filmmaker Joey Rodríguez and shot by Gabriel Valencia, with support from renowned director Alfonso Rodríguez. Max also authored a book of the same name inspired by the short film.
Max is a member of the musical group 9ONCE and serves as CEO of their label, Borghetti Music LLC.
