Biography
Taylor Autumn Bertman was born in Reston, VA, and relocated to California in 2012. She has a deep passion for the performing arts, including acting, singing, dancing, gymnastics, and tumbling, as well as a love for animals and art, which she enjoys sharing with others. Taylor is recognized for her recurring role as Jane North in the acclaimed drama series Scandal, appearing in episodes #411 and #413. In comedy, she portrayed Mandy in Nickelodeon's Sam and Cat, Season One, Episode 24, "Yay Day," in January 2014, and played "Little Hazel" in Disney Channel's Bunk'd, episode 206, "Luke Out Below." She also guest-starred as Dierdre on TV Land's Teachers, in the March 2017 episode "In Security" (#209).
Taylor has performed in several short films and appeared in a General Electric commercial aired nationally on television and online. She has also sung as a guest vocalist at The Derby Restaurant, where she was invited back to perform on New Year's Eve. Additionally, Taylor featured as one of the children in the "Jimmy Kimmel, Lie Detective" comedy skit about being "Naughty or Nice" for Santa, which originally aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live in December 2013 and remains popular on the show's website with approximately 1,745,000 views.
From 2016 to 2018, Taylor provided voice work for the classic Peanuts cartoon on Cartoon Network, playing Sally Brown and the role of Marcie Carlin. She also voiced the lead character "Sofie" in the Little People cartoon on Sprout TV and BBC, produced by Mattel and HIT Entertainment. In 2017, Taylor served as a youth announcer for ESPN's Little League World Series.
Typically cast in roles aged 15 to 19, Taylor has also portrayed characters as young as 10. She has a small, lean, athletic build, brown eyes, golden brown hair with purple highlights, weighs 98 lbs, and stands 5'4" tall, which allows her to play a variety of ages. Known for being sweet, bubbly, and kind, she enjoys expressing a wide range of emotions, from laughter to tears. An avid reader and writer, Taylor has co-authored original scripts with her brother, Stuart Allan. Her favorite book series include Erin Hunter's Warriors and Wings of Fire. In 2024, she completed her first original graphic novel, "Downfall," as creator, author, and illustrator. Taylor is comfortable with animals and loves dogs, cats, horses, lizards, gentle snakes, and parrots of all sizes.
Taylor is passionate about comedy, photography, improvisation, drama, gymnastics, and dance, and enjoys sharing both visual and performing arts with friends. She has served as Yearbook Editor four times and won the JRay Awards twice for Lead Production Stage Manager and Stage Crew/Craft Technical Mechanics, recognized for precision and timing. A graduate of Village Christian High School in the Los Angeles area, she earned a 4.3 GPA with AP and NHS honors. Currently a college junior at Parsons School of Design in New York City, Taylor is majoring in Game Design/Digital Imaging and Technology with a minor in Stage Management. She works in NYC as an Assistant Stage Manager for Off-Broadway productions and as a Content Creator/Manager for The New School/Parsons. Whenever possible, Taylor enjoys performing and collaborating creatively with her older brother, Stuart Allan Bertman, a CSUN graduate. Together, they share a passion for visual, vocal, gaming, digital, animation, performing, and production arts with many creative artists.
