Biography
In 2020 the Brazilian born actress and comedian, Bruna Portugal, decided to search for new challenges in her career, moving to America and becoming LA based.
Throughout her career, Bruna acted in six theatre plays, played the lead role in three feature films, and performed standup all over America. Over the years, she has also collected numerous different projects, such as short films, commercials, and modeling.
Bruna has an unwavering dedication to her art and always pursues her self-improvement. She studied comedy and improv techniques with Suzanne Kent from The Groundlings, graduated from the New York Film Academy Acting for Film Conservatory, and earned an advanced Body Language Certificate from Théâtre Du Soleil in France.
Her career is nothing short of impressive. She has acted in numerous projects with Wolf Maya, one of Brazil's most prominent soap opera directors. Her work has been recognized, with one of the plays she performed in winning the Quality Art Awards for Best Musical Play. She recently took the stage at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival to perform standup. The online comedy content produced and acted by her has garnered an impressive 15M views within a week.
In 2025, Bruna officially launched her production company, HerVision Entertainment, which quickly drew attention for its bold, female-led creative vision. LA Weekly recently featured HerVision Entertainment as part of its spotlight on rising entertainment companies shaping Los Angeles' comedy and film scene.
Most recently, on June 20, 2025, Bruna taped her first full-length stand-up comedy special, Sorry Mom, Sorry Jesus, at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood. The special is currently in post-production and in negotiations for distribution, with release details to come.
