Biography
Rodolfo Alvarado is a critically acclaimed writer, playwright, and performer whose multidisciplinary work spans literature, stage, screen, and digital media. In Fall 2025, Alvarado will make his Off-Broadway debut performing in Undesirable Secrets, a one-man play he wrote, based on his feature-length screenplay about Anthony C. Acevedo, a Mexican American WWII medic and Holocaust survivor. Supported by the Anthony Acevedo Educational Foundation, the piece has been performed at the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio and workshopped in Santa Fe and Michigan to strong acclaim.
On June 9, 2025, Alvarado will present selections from his latest book, Brown Son of Lorca: A Boy Reclaimed in Poems, Stories & Voice, at La Nacional in New York City as part of Danisarte's celebration of Federico García Lorca, curated by actress and director Alicia Kaplan. The event will include his live performance of To Speak What Was Buried, the theatrical monologue included in the book.

Alvarado is also the writer behind The Perla Garcia Mysteries, winner of the Latin International Podcast Award for Best in Children, Family & Parenting, and the author of The Untold Story of Joe Hernandez: The Voice of Santa Anita, winner of the Dr. Tony Ryan Book Award. His work has earned honors from the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, Coverfly Red List, and Script Summit, among others.
