Biography
Marc Thomas Trottier grew up just outside Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Although he earned collegiate diplomas in Creative Arts and Police Technology, it was after taking his first acting class that he found a true passion for acting. A lifelong martial artist, Marc trained at the prestigious Tristar Gym alongside Georges St-Pierre. As an undefeated amateur fighter and grappling champion, he was poised to turn professional in MMA before choosing to pursue acting full-time.
Marc's feature film debut came in Decoys (2004), where he portrayed Bobby Johnson, the star captain of a college hockey team. He has since appeared in films including 3 Needles (2005), Zack Snyder’s 300 (2006), Sticks and Stones (2008), the Toronto International Film Festival opener Score: A Hockey Musical (2010), and 300: Rise of an Empire (2014).
On television, Trottier’s credits feature roles in MTV's Undressed (1999), The Bridge (2010), King (2011), Mohawk Girls (2010), and 19-2 (2014). He guest-starred as the villain Hardhat on Arrow (2012) and starred as Sir Rayne, one of the leads on the international series Big Top Academy (2018), produced by Cirque du Soleil.
More recently, he embraced rom-coms, playing the charismatic Theo in Planning for Joy (2022).
Beyond acting, Marc is deeply involved in filmmaking, exploring writing, directing, and producing. His commanding presence, combined with outstanding physical skills and discipline, gives Trottier a diverse and compelling range as an actor.
