Biography
Kiowa Joseph Gordon was born on March 25, 1990, in Berlin, Germany. Shortly after, he moved to the United States to live on the Hualapai Indian Reservation in Peach Springs, Arizona. Throughout his childhood, he moved frequently before settling in Phoenix, Arizona, where he secured the role of Embry Call in The Twilight Saga. In 2013, he won Best Supporting Actor at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco for his performance in the indie film The Lesser Blessed. Kiowa was also a series regular on the Sundance original series The Red Road, which starred Jason Momoa, Julianne Nicholson, and Martin Henderson. Beginning in 2021, he became a series regular on AMC’s acclaimed drama Dark Winds, based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn and Chee novels. His mother, Camille, is from the Hualapai Nation, while his father, Tom, has Scottish, Jewish, and Choctaw heritage. Kiowa has seven siblings: Cheyenne, Josh, Lakota, MacGregor, Aaron, Sean, and Sariah.
