Biography
"Sergio D. Spadavecchia, a Canadian-born Italian-raised artist-joins us from Italy, with years of experience having worked with some of the biggest brands in the business. He has traveled the world as a photographer, cinematographer, and creative director for world-renowned magazines, travel shows, and tourism boards. His passion for creativity has brought him to travel the world capturing amazing cultures and breathtaking landscapes." -Matt R.
"David most loves to transform fleeting moments of daily transaction into enlightened memories..." -Deborah S.
"...this is likely why he counts photography and cinematography among his life's passions. Born in Toronto, David and his family moved back to their native Italy when he was just ten years old. It proved fortuitous; he enrolled in an art school in Bari and spent his formative years immersing himself in the world of design and in what he calls the planet's greatest gallery: the country of Italy itself. For the next decade and a half, he toiled as a successful photographer and graphic designer, then art director, working for newspapers, magazines, and advertising agencies, mostly in Italy, Europe, and Canada."
"His inspiring sense of travel has taken him (thus far!) not just to Italy but also to South Africa, Paris, London, Jordan, Taiwan, Newfoundland and Labrador, Alberta, Peru, Colombia, the Amazon Jungle, Guatemala, and more to come as in the pipeline there is the filming of the travel show "It's a Beautiful World" by Global Heroes."
"Always behind the camera, Sergio is the kind of man who knows every inch of the machine but never bothers to step into the glow of it. Thirty years deep in the trenches of filmmaking, moving through its many worlds like a ghost with a toolkit-lighting, lenses, logistics, the quiet art of making chaos look intentional. He’s what they used to call a "Master of all Trades," back when that meant something earned, not claimed. The sort of craftsman you don’t notice until everything works exactly the way it should. No fuss, no spotlight. Just results. A hidden gem, sure, but not by accident, by choice." -Steven B.
Now he lives in Toronto, where he is the creative director for Global Heroes Magazine.
