Biography
Richard began working at age 12, washing and waxing cars, mowing lawns, and selling greeting cards door-to-door. In high school, he held jobs as a dock hand at a marina, a clam digger, and ran the counter at a busy restaurant and soda shop. While attending college, where he earned a degree in Political Economy, he owned and operated a surfboard shop and worked as an international management trainee for Pan American World Airways in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Caracas, Venezuela. Richard started flying at age 7 and obtained his pilot's license in high school. After college, he joined the U.S. Navy's Aviation Officer Candidate School (flight school) in Pensacola, Florida, serving 15 years on active and reserve duty with fighter and attack squadrons deployed on aircraft carriers and shore installations across the United States.
After leaving active duty, Richard launched his civilian career in sales, quickly advancing through roles such as sales manager, director of sales, vice president of sales and marketing, chief operating officer, chief executive officer, and chairman. His extensive experience spans small, medium, and large companies with various ownership structures, including venture capital/private equity, publicly traded, and family/closely held businesses across technology, services, and the arts. He collaborated with venture capital to grow his own successful regional company in the electronic security sector and served as owner and chairman of a leading human capital management firm for ten years until its sale in 2017. Over his career, Richard has completed more than one hundred acquisitions.
Richard is also an accomplished SAG-AFTRA actor, stunt driver, and producer. His recent appearances include TV shows and films such as Outer Range, Roswell New Mexico, Robots, and Maggie Moore(s). His distinctive look and physical fitness allow him to portray a wide range of characters—from clergy to business executives, attorneys, physicians, and criminal masterminds, both historical and contemporary. Beyond acting, Richard is a national champion Formula 2000 race car driver, a stunt driver, and a stunt driving instructor for the film and television industry, as well as an award-winning producer.
Combining his extensive career and life experiences, Richard embodies a true multi-hyphenate. His unique blend of skills, along with his strong work ethic, preparedness, and collaborative nature, have made him a highly respected and sought-after asset in the film and television industry.
