Biography
Jasmin Bhatt is an Indian writer, director, novelist, and storyteller known for his work across films, web series, literature, and audio storytelling in Gujarati, Hindi, and English. Born on September 6, 1984, in Rajkot, Gujarat, he completed his schooling and college education in Bhavnagar. After earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2004, he began his professional career as an Assistant Tax Consultant under the guidance of Late Shri Anil R. Shridharani, Advocate, while simultaneously pursuing his law degree. He received his LL.B. in 2007 from Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University and later completed his LL.M. from Anand Law College, affiliated with Sardar Patel University, in 2017. Alongside his legal and academic career, Bhatt served as a visiting faculty member at Nandkunvarba Mahila College and at his alma mater, teaching Taxation and Diploma in Taxation Law.
Bhatt began his artistic journey in 2012 as a theatre actor, performing in stage productions in Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai, and later appearing in several short films. His passion for storytelling led him to write plays, short films, and original screenplays, earning recognition in both Gujarati and Hindi cinema. During the 2020 nationwide lockdown, he wrote his debut Gujarati novel, Ek Sambandh... Aavo Pan..., published by Navbharat Sahitya Prakashan. In 2021, he launched his YouTube channel, Kahaniyaan (Some Stories Are Forever) dedicated to literary and inspirational storytelling. In 2022, he made his debut as a writer and director with the Gujarati web series Library (Ek Anokhi Varta), which was released on ShemarooMe Gujarati and YouTube. The series received four National Awards at the 2023 Indian Film House Awards in Bangalore, where Bhatt won First Rank for Best Story.
In 2025, Bhatt made his feature directorial debut with the Gujarati film Super Manav and published his English novel Love Vs We. The same year, he wrote two Hindi episodic audio series, Meera and Khamosh Gawah, released on Diamond Nib FM. In 2026, he served as Associate Director on the Gujarati feature film Man Melo. Jasmin Bhatt continues to create emotionally driven and socially relevant stories as a writer, director, novelist, and storyteller, exploring the complexities of human relationships across multiple creative platforms.
