Biography
Kim Berlin's career spans over 20 years, with credits including more than 25 films, numerous hours of episodic television, music videos, and commercials. As a hands-on producer, she consistently delivers projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining creative integrity.
Graduating from Concordia University in 1984, Berlin began her career as a production assistant. She rapidly advanced to become one of Canada's most in-demand first assistant directors. Her extensive on-set experience facilitated a smooth transition into producing. Currently, as CEO of Wishmaker Films Inc., a Montreal-based production company, she continues to develop and produce high-quality entertainment.
Wishmaker Films Inc. is a fully operational boutique production company in Montreal that serves as an independent producer and consultant for clients across Canada and the United States.
Berlin has collaborated with a variety of companies, including Buena Vista International, Disney, Hearst, Saban Entertainment, Alliance International, Serendipity Point Films, CTV, TMN, Showtime, and the Family Channel.
As former President of Production at Blackwatch Communications Inc., she produced several feature films sold to both domestic and international markets. These include "Dead Silent" starring Rob Lowe, "Artificial Lies" featuring Jack Wagner and Daphne Zuniga, "Nowhere in Sight" with Andrew McCarthy and Helen Slater, and "Life in the Balance" starring Bo Derek and Bruce Boxleitner.
Berlin has also been a guest speaker at production-related industry panels, notably at the Montreal Film Festival in 2000 and 2001.
Most recently, she produced "Banshee," directed by Kari Skogland for Oxygen Media and starring Taryn Manning, as well as "2 Human" (also known as "Android Apocalypse") starring Scott Bairstow and Joseph Lawrence for the Sci-Fi Channel. Both films premiered on June 24, 2006.
