Biography
Michael Doven boasts a 25-year career as an executive producer. As the CEO and founder of United Pictures Group, he holds Associate Producer credits on box office hits that have grossed billions worldwide. He is widely recognized for serving as Tom Cruise’s personal assistant during the peak of Cruise’s career from 1992 to 2004, where he also acted as Cruise’s chief of staff. During this period, Michael met and married Andrea Morse, who also worked alongside Cruise.
Michael’s notable production associate credits include Magnolia (1999), Eyes Wide Shut (1999), and Mission: Impossible II (2000). He assisted Tom Cruise on films such as Jerry Maguire (1996), The Firm (1993), Far and Away (1992), and Interview with the Vampire (1994).
Additional films credited to Michael include A Few Good Men (1992), Vanilla Sky (2001), Minority Report (2002), The Last Samurai (2003), and Collateral (2004). He also had minor acting roles in Murder, She Wrote (1989) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999).
Michael’s expertise spans script development, preproduction, production, post-production, marketing, and international press tours. His extensive industry relationships and diverse experiences keep him at the forefront as an executive producer.
In 2015, he founded United Pictures Group to pursue his passion for impactful and powerful films. In a recent interview, he shared how his love of reading inspires his approach to filmmaking. “I read extensively to continuously learn new strategies for overcoming challenges in film production,” he said. “Some of the greatest minds have profoundly influenced me. I’ve gained invaluable insights about life and myself, and I now recognize that running my own company is my true calling.”
Under United Pictures Group, Michael released his first film, The Squeeze, in spring 2015. This family-friendly movie received strong reviews from critics and audiences alike. Michael was thrilled not only because it marked his company’s debut but also because it aligned with his passion for storytelling. The Squeeze follows a young, talented golfer who becomes entangled in high-stakes gambling on the course. Its suspense, compelling characters, and unexpected twist perfectly reflect Michael’s tastes. Another exciting upcoming project is Durant’s Never Closes, starring Tom Sizemore, which Michael approaches with great enthusiasm.
In addition to filmmaking, Michael is an accomplished photographer. He has photographed notable figures such as professional golfer Rick Rhoden and singer Alyssa Suede. His photography was featured on the album Bittersweet by Mark Isham and Kate Ceberano (2009).
