Biography

Carlos Silva Vallejo is an award-winning film and television editor based in Mexico City. His feature Contraataque (2025) is the most-watched Mexican film in Netflix history, ranking among the top 10 most-viewed non-English films on the platform of all time, with over 66 million views. With over a decade of experience in premium scripted television, Carlos has built a track record with HBO, Netflix, Amazon, and Amblin. His work on Sr. Ávila (HBO) contributed to the series winning an International Emmy Award, and his editing on Tijuana (Netflix) earned him a Pantalla de Cristal Award for Best Editing. Most recently, he edited La Oficina: Amazon Prime Video's Mexican adaptation of The Office, one of the most anticipated Latin American series of 2026. He also collaborates regularly with Ihtzi Hurtado, one of Mexico's most commercially successful directors, whose films consistently top the domestic box office. Beyond event television, Carlos champions emerging Mexican cinema: his collaboration on Ok, está bien earned a selection at Cannes' Marché du Film and the Guadalajara International Film Festival. A versatile editor with a sharp instinct for cinematic storytelling, he works across genres, from streaming blockbusters to intimate festival films, always in service of the story.
