Biography
Jeff Broadstreet, born on November 7, 1960, in Greencastle, Indiana, is an American director, producer, writer, and editor. In the independent film industry, he is recognized for creating feature films with production values that significantly surpass their budgets. He has directed six feature films and produced or co-produced seven, spanning genres from horror to documentary and docudrama. Broadstreet has worked with numerous notable actors, particularly in horror, including Jeffrey Combs ("Re-Animator"), Karen Black ("House of 1000 Corpses"), Bill Moseley ("3 from Hell"), Sid Haig ("The Devil's Rejects"), Andrew Divoff ("Wishmaster"), Doug Jones ("The Shape of Water"), John Kassir ("Tales from the Crypt"), Daniel Roebuck ("The Fugitive"), and Bill Oberst, Jr. ("3 from Hell").
Beyond directing and producing, Jeff is also a screenwriter and editor. In 2009, he served as executive producer for the documentary "American Grindhouse," which premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival and was well received. In late 2019, he launched the boutique post-production company MidnightPix-Image Engine/FX, specializing in trailers, sizzle reels, and feature film editing, catering to independent filmmakers.
Jeff is among a select group of filmmakers worldwide to have directed two stereo feature films: "Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation" (2012) and "Night of the Living Dead 3D" (2006). For the latter, he received the Special Achievement in Stereo Filmmaking award at the 2006 Fantasy & Horror International Film Festival in Estepona, Spain.
