Sonal Kariya was born on 2 October 1985 in Amravati, Maharashtra, India. She is an Indian film industry professional known for her work in public relations and direction. She is the elder daughter of the late Raju Kariya, a prominent public relations officer (PRO) in Bollywood, and the late Nanda Kariya. With a background rooted in the film industry, Sonal has made her mark behind the scenes through film promotions and direction. She is also known for her previous marriage to Late actor Inder Kumar.
Raised in a film-centric household, she was deeply influenced by her father, Raju Kariya, a well-respected PRO who had a career spanning more than 50 years in Bollywood. Her mother, Nanda Kariya, supported the family's work in the industry. Sonal is the eldest of two daughters and shares a close bond with her younger sister, Dhara Kariya, who also works in public relations and collaborates with her professionally.
She completed her schooling at KK Raj Popat School in Juhu, Mumbai, and pursued her secondary education under the SSC board. Following in her father's footsteps, Sonal began working in the film industry, focusing on public relations and direction. She has been involved in numerous Bollywood campaigns and projects, handling media strategy, event coordination, and film promotion.
Her sister, Dhara Kariya, who is married, works closely with her as part of their family-led PR initiatives. Together, they continue the Kariya family's legacy in the Bollywood media space. Sonal Kariya was previously married to Bollywood actor Inder Kumar. They had one daughter, Khushi Shroff, who was later adopted by her grandfather, Raju Kariya, and is now known as Khushi Kariya. Khushi has completed her graduation and is currently active as a fashion influencer on Instagram, building her own identity in the world of digital fashion and lifestyle.Sonal also has another daughter, Rashi Padia, from a subsequent marriage. Rashi has recently completed her 12th grade and plans to pursue her bachelor's degree.
