Edwin is a Detroit-born filmmaker whose work blends grounded realism with sharp, character-driven comedy. Raised in the projects of Detroit, Michigan, he draws deeply from his upbringing-surrounded by both hardship and resilience. Growing up in an environment shaped by violence, drugs, and survival gave him a raw, unfiltered perspective that naturally translates to the screen. Raised by a single mother alongside his older brother, Edwin developed an early passion for film, using storytelling as both an escape and a way to make sense of the world around him.
He made his directorial debut with 2 AM, a fast-paced, chaotic comedy that captures the unpredictability of one wild night. The film highlights Edwin’s instinct for humor, pacing, and authentic dialogue, turning everyday situations into compelling, high-energy moments. His storytelling stands out for its relatability-characters feel real, conversations feel lived-in, and the environment reflects the Detroit he knows.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in hospitality, Edwin approaches filmmaking with a unique mindset centered on experience.
