Biography
Richard Brundage, an actor based in New York, recently appeared in the critically acclaimed film "Shiva Baby" alongside Rachel Sennott and Molly Gordon. He earned the Best Supporting Actor award at the Milan International Filmmaker Festival for his role in "Flesh is Heir To."
Born in Seattle, Richard was raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, and La Spezia, Italy, with notable stops in Providence, Rhode Island, and Falmouth, Massachusetts. During his early teens, he attended both baseball camp and band camp, enjoying each experience. Before pursuing acting, he explored various careers including high school math teacher, word-processing specialist, semi-professional French horn player, librarian, classical music engraver/editor, and avid amateur volleyball player. At 39, on a whim, he enrolled in acting classes at HB Studio in Manhattan and soon transitioned to acting full-time.
He has starred in leading roles in several feature films such as Lena Dunham's "Creative Nonfiction," Gorman Bechard's "You Are Alone," and Winn Coslick's "Fourhand." His over sixty independent film roles have been showcased at film festivals worldwide. Besides working with Lena Dunham, he has acted alongside Bobby Moynihan ("Saturday Night Live"), Margarita Levieva ("The Deuce"), Larry Joe Campbell ("According to Jim"), Toks Olagundoye ("Frasier"), Austin Basis ("Beauty and the Beast"), Kate Lyn Sheil ("House of Cards"), and Tate Ellington ("Law & Order: Organized Crime").
On stage, Richard has performed in numerous productions across New York and in states including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois. He has shared the stage with Anna Chlumsky ("Veep"), Vincent Piazza ("Boardwalk Empire"), and Jeremy Holm ("House of Cards").
