Biography

Merit Leighton has built an impressive career spanning television, film, voice acting, new media, and music, earning recognition for standout roles. She portrayed "Hannah," the sweet yet slightly absentminded friend, on the Netflix Emmy-nominated comedy "Alexa & Katie," created by Heather Wordham. Merit also voices Hinako, the lead character in the English dub of the Japanese animated film "Ride Your Wave," produced by Science Saru and directed by Masaaki Yuasa. Additionally, she provides the voice of "Frosta" on the Emmy-nominated Netflix series "She-Ra and The Princesses of Power" from DreamWorks, created by multi-award-winning writer ND Stevenson. She is also known for voicing "Lucinda the Witch" on Disney's Emmy-winning "Sofia the First," as well as the Stone Stackers and Tornado Warrior in "The Legends of Runeterra" by Riot Games.

An award-winning filmmaker, Leighton has received numerous honors on the festival circuit for her animated short "Planeman." As a professional singer, she has backed Halsey on the platinum single "New Americana" and contributed two tracks to Disney's "Sofia the First Album" as Lucinda. She also performed a song for "Dishonored" accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra at the SPIKE Video Game Awards. In her free time, Merit enjoys dancing, K-pop, anime, video games, and collecting vintage toys. Passionate about Japanese culture, she has studied the language for five years. Merit Leighton is an autistic actress who holds a special place in her heart for The Jonathon Foundation, where she serves as a celebrity ambassador supporting their work with children with special needs.
