Biography
California native Veronica Dunne stars as Marisa, the lead role in the Disney Channel series "K.C. Undercover," alongside Disney veteran Zendaya. Dunne holds her own as Zendaya's on-screen best friend, portraying the outgoing life of the party and a free spirit. Having begun performing at age four, Dunne has acting in her blood—her father is Murphy Dunne ("The Blues Brothers"). She has built her acting career on a foundation of musical theater and stage experience.
Dunne's first professional theater role was as Cinderella in the Lythgoe Family Production of "Cinderella," where she performed alongside Hollywood veterans Jennifer Leigh Warren (Broadway's "Little Shop of Horrors") and Freddie Stroma ("Harry Potter"). She later appeared in stage productions of "Into the Woods," "Chicago," "Cabaret," and "The Black Suits," written by Joe Iconis (Broadway's "Smash"). This role led her to New York, where she auditioned for and was offered the lead role of Sophie in Broadway's "Mamma Mia," though she ultimately chose to play Marisa in "K.C. Undercover."
Now nineteen years old, Dunne brings a unique perspective to her fans, often serving as a role model for younger peers with her strong work ethic and determination. She aims to inspire and be a positive influence for viewers of the channel. Dunne loves storytelling and engaging her audience, frequently performing simply to make people laugh and bring joy, considering comic relief a true blessing.
