Biography
Davis is celebrating his ninth year in Los Angeles as a full-time actor, working across film, TV, theater, commercials, stand-up comedy, hosting, and voice-over roles through the William Morris Agency. His diverse body of work has placed him in that unique, respectable position where many people recognize him but can't quite place him.
Hailing from Oklahoma City, Davis funded his education at SMU's Meadows School of the Arts cinema production program in Dallas, Texas, by directing corporate videos, ultimately earning a B.A., Cum Laude. With his degree as a safety net, he pursued his lifelong passion for performing, touring nationally as a stand-up comedian for three years before moving to Los Angeles.
In L.A., he joined ACME Comedy Theater, Hollywood’s leading all-sketch comedy troupe. After two years in the main company, he enrolled in The Groundlings’ prestigious four-level improv and sketch program, graduating with honors.
Davis has amassed numerous film and television credits, including appearances on ABC's Desperate Housewives, Norm, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher (sketch comedy), Sony Pictures’ feature Slackers, Disney Channel’s The Jersey, NBC’s Providence, SCI-FI Channel’s The Chronicle, UPN’s All of Us, and CBS’s Walker: Texas Ranger. He has also starred in many national commercials for brands such as Toyota, Budweiser, Circuit City, Sears, and Quaker. Additionally, his voice has represented companies like Bank of America, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and Coors Light.
He was the on-camera host and star of TV Guide’s two-year run of Best of Late Night TV, a fast-paced blend of original comedy and highlights from late-night talk shows and sketch comedy programs (similar to The Soup, featuring clips from Letterman, Leno, Conan O'Brien, SNL, and others).
Recently, Davis produced and starred in his own award-winning short film, Boy-Next-Door, which premiered at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. The film went on to win awards at WorldFest, Hollywood Shorts, Big Bear Lake International, and Key West Indie Fest, in addition to being officially selected at 24 other notable festivals. It secured a distribution deal with Shorts International and received a perfect 5-star rating on iTunes.
Davis is married with a young son and daughter, continues to live and work in Los Angeles, and credits his involvement in show business to his grandfather, Seymour Davis, who was a professional entertainer for 56 years.
