Biography
Katrina Kemp has been engaged in theater, dance, and choir since childhood. Her vaudevillian heritage comes from her paternal family in the Bahamas. In 2009, she made her professional acting and stunt debut just five miles from home, donning the Chucky the Killer Doll costume for various attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood. She then gained experience portraying creature suit characters in low-budget horror films and commercials. Her breakthrough came starring in the circus "Cirque Berzerk," followed by appearances in music videos (including Rihanna's) and guest roles on TV shows such as Marvel's Spider-Man, RuPaul's Drag Race, Man Seeking Woman, Faking It, and The Eric Andre Show.
Katrina earned a Bachelor's Degree in TV Production from Cal State University Northridge in 2013. In 2014, she toured South America with Miley Cyrus on the "Bangerz" International Tour. After working on several TV shows and performing in atmosphere roles at major events like Coachella and Insomniac Events, she gained wider recognition for her role as "Fleck" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Love Never Dies," the first national tour of the Phantom of the Opera sequel, which debuted in 2017. She is the only Little Person Acrobat-Singer to perform in 410 Broadway shows across 41 major North American cities in 18 months. Most recently, she was cast in a five-episode arc on Netflix’s "GLOW" as "Candy," a spirited wrestler performing her own stunts; however, the show was canceled after filming the first episode.
Katrina is a prominent advocate for Dwarfism and Disability inclusion in media. She made history as the first actor with Dwarfism to voice a Little Person animated character, Anna Maria Marconi, in multiple episodes of Disney XD's "Marvel's Spider-Man." She has been invited to speak at numerous events, both in person and via social media, about her experiences as an actor with a disability.
When not touring or recovering from stunt work, Katrina applies her TV Production degree as a Reality TV transcriptionist and on-set live logger worldwide. She collaborates with editors and story producers from companies such as 495 Productions, Fox Entertainment, Disney, Bravo Networks, and World of Wonder's RuPaul's Drag Race. With four years of writing and typing experience alongside ten years of live performance, she seamlessly navigates both sides of the entertainment industry.
Katrina joined the AGVA union as a variety artist in 2009, became a SAG-AFTRA member as an actor and stuntwoman in 2014, joined the Actors’ Equity Association in 2017, and solidified her role as a logger/transcriptionist by joining the Motion Picture Editors Guild in 2018. Whether dancing, singing, scaring, twerking, typing, or traveling, Katrina shares her life perspective and promotes Dwarfism Awareness through every project she undertakes.
