Biography

Linda Lovelace, born Linda Boreman in 1949, is widely recognized as one of the most famous figures in the adult film industry. In the late 1960s, she started a relationship with Chuck Traynor, whom she later married. She appeared in eight 8mm hardcore fetish loops, including one involving bestiality. Lovelace is best known for the 1972 hardcore pornographic film Deep Throat, which became a significant commercial success, drawing large audiences in mainstream theaters and is often regarded as the definitive adult film. After divorcing Traynor, she disclosed that he had subjected her to physical and sexual abuse throughout their relationship and had coerced her into performing in the film. Lovelace also appeared in the R-rated Deep Throat Part II (1974), filmed during her marriage to Traynor, and the softcore Linda Lovelace for President (1975). Eventually, she withdrew from the public eye, as audiences expected nudity and were unreceptive to her accounts of exploitation. In 1980, she published her autobiography, Ordeal, detailing the abuse she suffered under Traynor. She became an advocate against pornography and testified before the Meese Commission on its dangers. Linda Lovelace passed away in April 2002 due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
