Biography
Magalie is an award-winning actress working between Canada and the US. Originally from Québec City, she speaks English & French fluently. At the age of 19, Magalie left her Belle Province and moved to Toronto to study theatre at the George Brown Theatre School setting high goals of making a breakthrough in the English-speaking industry. Additionally she has extensive training from various Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles acting studios. Moreover, Magalie has been working on various dialects with Dorothy Ward, voice and dialect coach at the Stratford Festival in Canada for four seasons. In her younger years, Magalie competed in artistic gymnastic and dance (modern, hip-hop, jazz) which granted her work as a physical performer, stunt double, acrobat and pole dancer in numerous commercials and Film & TV projects.
Magalie is recognized for her roles in Slant (2026), The Bear Lake Murders (2025), Residents of Arcadia (2023), A Million Little Things (2022) & Riverdale (2022).
In 2024, Magalie premiered her one-woman show "Homecumming" at the Montreal Fringe. The show resonated strongly with Canadian audiences and critics, winning Best Narrative at the 2025 Montreal Fringe, earning a Best Text nomination, and receiving two Frankie Award nominations for Most Promising Comedy and Most Promising Production at the 2024 Montreal Fringe. Magalie is thrilled to bring Homecumming to international audiences with its Adelaide Fringe 2026 premiere and its Scotland, UK premiere at Edinburgh Fringe 2026.
In 2023, her short film "Falling" that she wrote, produced and starred in appeared in numerous film festivals and won many awards such as "Best Actress"', "Best Romance", "Best Director" thrice and "Best Cinematography". In previous years, Magalie also wrote and performed her very first play in 2018 titled "SARA" that tells the story of a stripper who wishes to pursue an artistic career. According to Cult Mtl, "SARA" was the best dramatic production critic Pierre Wheeland saw at this Montreal Fringe 2018.
In between her filming, Magalie runs her self-tape & acting studio Artéfakt (artefakt [dot] ca) under which she produces, writes and directs her films, teaches on-camera classes and coaches professional actors on their auditions. And they BOOK!
