Simon Kelton is a UK/US-based writer and producer, and the founder of Inspirational Entertainment, a company dedicated to developing and producing compelling film and TV stories that inspire as much as they entertain.
From Guy Ritchie's upcoming YOUNG SHERLOCK on Amazon Prime to iconic moments like EDDIE THE EAGLE's famous 90m ski jump at the Calgary Winter Olympics, or Gavin Maxwell's groundbreaking environmental work in his beloved book RING OF BRIGHT WATER, Inspirational Entertainment strives to bring exciting, ambitious, uplifting, and often true stories to the broadest audience possible.
Founded by Simon and his wife Heather—an accomplished film producer with twelve years of experience working alongside director Robert Zemeckis—the company focuses on creating inspirational British stories with global appeal.
Simon and Heather began their careers in entertainment as a security guard and catering assistant, respectively. Since then, they have had the privilege of collaborating with renowned directors such as Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, Guy Ritchie, Matthew Vaughn, John Stevenson, Ash Brannon, and Dexter Fletcher, as well as major film stars including Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Hugh Jackman, and Taron Egerton.
An avid lover of the mountains and snowsports, Simon executive produced Jeff Lowe's METANOIA, an extraordinary true story that won Best Mountaineering Film at the Kendal Festival and received 24 other awards worldwide, including in New Zealand, Italy, Canada, Croatia, and the US. He is currently developing a World Cup skiing project titled 100 SECONDS.
Simon has penned over 30 screenplays for UK and US production companies, with directors like Guy Ritchie, Michael Grandage, Nigel Cole, Andy Fickman, Ash Brannon, John Stevenson, Kirk Jones, James Honeyborne, and Declan Lowney attached to his projects. He has also contributed voice work for films such as POLAR EXPRESS, BEOWULF, MONSTER HOUSE, and A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
Simon was the inaugural recipient of the prestigious BAFTA LA Scholarship for screenwriting at UCLA Film School and later co-chaired BAFTA LA's Scholarship Committee, helping to establish it as one of the most significant and generous film school scholarships worldwide.
He holds Master's degrees from Oxford, Stanford, and UCLA, where he earned the first BAFTA LA Scholarship, the Samuel Goldwyn Award, the Harmony Gold Award of Excellence, was a Disney Fellowship finalist, and twice a Nicholl Fellowship semi-finalist. Additionally, Simon has pursued studies at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
