Biography
Al LaFleur is a SAG-AFTRA actor, filmmaker, and producer with more than 40 film, television, and stage credits. After walking out of a graduate school program, he spontaneously auditioned for *The Mousetrap* that same night and landed the lead role of Detective Sergeant Trotter, his first return to the stage since childhood. That decision led to performances as Stanley in *A Streetcar Named Desire* and Dallas Winston in *The Outsiders*, launching a committed and quietly prolific acting career.
His recent work includes starring in the crime drama *Speakeasy* opposite Alex Veadov and Carlo Mendez and leading the upcoming dystopian feature *The Pipes*. He also appeared as Officer Williams in *The Night Passenger*, which premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre, and has portrayed Billy Clanton on INSP’s *Wild West Chronicles* and Khan in VetTV’s *A Grunt’s Life*.
Al has appeared in more than 15 vertical productions, primarily playing antagonists, authority figures, and morally complicated characters. Collectively, these projects have amassed nearly 200 million views worldwide.
Additional credits include Lifetime’s *With This Ring*, directed by Nzingha Stewart; *Lust*, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman; and *The Society: Endangered Species*, directed by Max Landis. He has trained with Robert Carnegie at Playhouse West, Margie Haber, Anthony Meindl, David Rountree, and Jonathan Stanley, though he still considers the theater his greatest teacher.
Beyond acting, Al writes, develops, and produces original work through Area 59 Films, the production company he founded, and Short Stack Films, the independent film company he co-founded. Through both companies, he regularly co-creates and produces original narrative films.
Originally from outside Cleveland, Ohio, Al brings a grounded Midwestern presence and unpredictable edge to his work. Now based in Los Angeles, he continues to build across feature films, television, theater, vertical storytelling, and independent production.
