Biography
Florin Penișoară is a Romanian-American actor active in film, television, and theatre throughout the United States and Europe. At 26, he earned a scholarship to The Actors Studio and later completed his MFA in New York, where he began developing a body of work focused on authentic, emotionally resonant performances. His on-screen credits include major productions for Netflix, Peacock, CBS, Amazon, NBC, Apple TV, and FX, often portraying intense, grounded characters in both U.S. and European projects. His film work features festival selections showcased at Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Vienna, and TIFF Cluj-Napoca. In theatre, Florin has performed in productions linked to The Public Theater in New York, collaborating with filmmakers and directors honored with awards such as the Silver Bear, Un Certain Regard, and FIPRESCI. Regarding his role in Husbands, The New York Times stated: "Only the charismatic Florin Penisoara is a strong enough actor to compete with Ms. Mirescu’s barrage of pictures and sound." Fluent in both American and European markets, Florin continues to seek complex, character-driven roles across television, film, and theatre.
