Biography
Jon Sawa is a Los Angeles-based VFX editor, video content creator, and multifaceted storyteller with over 18 years of experience in film, television, and digital media. A proud member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (Local 700), Jon has contributed to major studio productions including FUBAR (Netflix), 1923 (Paramount+), No One Will Save You (Hulu), Salem's Lot (Warner Bros.), and The Walking Dead (AMC), alongside a deep body of work in assistant editing, comedy, and independent film.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jon has lived and created in multiple U.S. cities-gathering life experiences that fuel his storytelling. His early artistic roots were grounded in grassroots theater, where he acted, directed, built sets, and co-founded a monthly sketch comedy troupe now known as Can't Afford Cable. He later earned his degree from Full Sail University, where he received recognition for best editing, sound, and direction.
As the founder of Prototype Multimedia, Jon has produced content across nearly every medium: from branded campaigns to full-length plays, albums, short films, YouTube sketches, and live shows. He also worked in post-audio at Sound Cell Studios, learning from industry legends and expanding his skill set into music production and sound design.
Jon's eclectic background includes collaborations with artists like Alicia Keys, Etta James, Keith Richards, and Bono, as well as work on projects for MTV, Muscle Shoals, and feature films like Never Back Down. His creative output continues to grow-whether in high-pressure post environments, comedy writer's rooms, or grassroots community initiatives like Lucky Duck Days, a charitable project that raises funds for nonprofits annually.
He is currently developing original content for his YouTube sketch channel and continues to be driven by his passion for visual storytelling, collaboration, and leaving a meaningful impact on audiences and communities alike.
