Biography
Julia is an award-winning European actress, screenwriter, and pioneering intimacy coordinator based in Berlin, working internationally in German, English, and French. Known for her versatility across drama and comedy, she brings physical precision, emotional depth, and empathy to each role.
She can be seen as the formidable Mrs. Gregson opposite Austrian acting heavyweight Tobias Moretti in the international thriller series "The Net", as well as in the award-winning drama "Blind Spots", which screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and features her in the lead role. Julia has guest-starred in leading German crime series including "SOKO Wismar" and "Polizeiruf 110". Internationally, she appeared as Patricia opposite and under the direction of Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Julie Delpy in international drama "My Zoe", which premiered at TIFF. Julia trained as an actress in Paris, Oxford, and London, where she was nominated for Best Lead Actress at the Off West End Awards in 2011. She made her German screen debut in 2013, portraying Jürgen Prochnow’s daughter in "My Daughter’s Children". A strong comedic actress, she won the prestigious Romy Award in 2019 as part of the ensemble of the Amazon Prime series "The Glory Is Gone", directed by Kai Wiesinger.
As a writer and creator, Julia wrote, directed, edited, and starred in the short drama "180 km/Empty", which screened at festivals worldwide and won numerous awards. With a PhD in literature, she continues to write for both drama and comedy; her scripts have been selected for the Funny Women Awards in London and the Tallinn Black Nights TV Scriptpool. She is the Creator and Showrunner of international female-centric dystopian series "Court of Muses" as well as the comedy series "Hell Yeah!!".
In addition to her work as an actor and writer, Julia is Germany’s first and pioneering intimacy coordinator, having introduced and established the profession nationally in 2019. Projects she has worked on have received major honors including the Emmy Award ("The Empress") and the Grimme Award ("Black Fruit", "Angemessen Angry"). She has collaborated with internationally acclaimed creatives including Nicole Kidman and Hagai Levi.
