Maria Erwolter was born on December 22, 1976, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is recognized for her roles in The Ritual (2017), Rig 45 (2018), and Pusher II (2004).

With distinctive facial features and exceptional acting skills, Maria Erwolter is establishing herself in both the Scandinavian and international acting arenas. Her look can be distinctly Scandinavian yet subtly otherworldly. She has portrayed a wide range of characters across genres including gangster films, comedies, horror, and more. She made her screen debut in 2004 with a major supporting role opposite Danish star Mads Mikkelsen in the acclaimed film Pusher II (With Blood on My Hands), directed by the award-winning Nicolas Winding Refn. Maria played the lead role in the Danish comedy sitcom Kristian for two seasons. Her recent work includes significant supporting roles in the Danish TV thriller series Those Who Kill (season 2) and the British horror hit The Ritual, produced by Netflix. After signing with Panorama Agency in 2018, she quickly secured a major supporting role in the second season of the Swedish Viaplay suspense thriller RIG 45, which premiered in early 2020, starring alongside British actor Gary Lewis. She also had a key role in Danish National Network TV2’s DNA, starring Charlotte Rampling, which aired in fall 2019. With her versatile and undeniable talent, Maria Erwolter is a rising star, steadily creating her own path in the industry.
