Biography
Vicente Moreno, born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is a director, writer, and editor specializing in television shows, short films, and feature films.
He earned his cinema degree from Unisinos in 2006, where he currently teaches editing and screenwriting. He is also completing a master's degree in communication at Pucrs. Additionally, he teaches film directing at Unespar/FAP (Curitiba) and previously led editing and screenwriting courses at Unisinos' Cinema Postgraduate Specialization School for four years.
In addition to writing scripts for his own projects, Vicente has contributed to the screenplays of "A Última Estrada da Praia" (Last Road to the Beach, 2010, directed by Fabiano de Souza); "Quase um Tango..." (2009, directed by Sérgio Silva); and "Aos Olhos de Ernesto" (currently in production, directed by Ana Luiza Azevedo).
His directorial work includes the documentary "Absoluto" (2010), which set a world record for the largest audience at a film premiere held at Beira-Rio Stadium; the short films "Sem Sinal" (2009) and "Mãos Dadas" (2010), both awarded Best Direction at the Histórias Curtas Award; and the documentary "Horizonte Flutuante," featuring intellectuals such as Mario Vargas Llosa, Carlo Ginzburg, and Terry Eagleton.
More recently, he directed the television program "Para que Servem os Homens" (2013) for RBSTV and the short film "Notícias Tuas" (News From You, 2013). Currently, Vicente is involved as editor and producer in the feature film "Dromedário no Asfalto" (Camel on the Tarmac, 2014, directed by Gilson Vargas) and has directed two new short films: "Cedo" (Early, 2014), created with philosopher Peter Singer, and "Depois da Avenida," which explores the World Cup's impact on a disadvantaged community in southern Brazil.
