Biography
Manuel Pachón (1936 – February 20, 2021) was a Colombian actor known for his work in film, theater, television, and radio.
He began his acting career as a child, portraying Alberto Limonta in the radio soap opera El derecho de nacer. He remained active in radio for several years, starring in the popular Colombian soap opera Kadir. During the 1960s and 1970s, Pachón transitioned to television and film, appearing in productions such as La abuela, El cazador nocturno, and El Virrey Solís. In the 1980s, he delivered some of his most notable performances in films like Cóndores no entierran todos los días, El embajador de la India, and Técnicas de duelo, as well as in the television series Dejémonos de vainas and Los dueños del poder.
In the 1990s, he collaborated with filmmaker Sergio Cabrera on projects including Águilas no cazan moscas, Ilona llega con la lluvia, and Golpe de estadio. Later, he made occasional appearances on Colombian TV shows such as Sin senos no hay paraíso, Verano en Venecia, Victorinos, and La ley del corazón.
Pachón, who suffered from heart conditions and kidney failure, passed away due to heart complications on February 21, 2021, at the age of 84.
