Biography
Luna Blaise, an actress and singer from Los Angeles, is rapidly establishing herself in Hollywood with her impressive dramatic skills. She was born on October 1, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, to Paul Boyd, a director and writer, and Angelyna Martinez, a talent manager. Her father hails from Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, while her mother, Angelyna Martinez-Boyd, is Hispanic with Jewish heritage from Texas.
From a young age, Luna’s parents and family friends noticed her innate passion for acting. As a child, she enjoyed creating and portraying different characters. She began her professional career at five, appearing in commercials and modeling for major brands such as McDonald's, KFC, Dunkin' Hines, Target, Gap, and Juicy Couture.
In 2012, Luna made her film debut playing Nina in the independent movie "Memoria," directed by Vladimir de Fontenay and Nina Ljeti, based on James Franco’s "Palo Alto" short stories. Franco also served as executive producer on the project.
Luna’s network television debut came in 2014 with a recurring role as Nicole, the sassy neighbor, on ABC's popular comedy "Fresh Off The Boat." Her performance in Nicole’s coming-out episode during season four was highlighted as a "bingeworthy" moment by Entertainment Weekly. In 2016, she received a Young Artist Award for Recurring Young Actress for her work on the show.
In 2018, Luna was cast as a series regular, playing Olive on the NBC drama "Manifest," starring alongside Melissa Roxburgh and Josh Dallas. Created by Jeff Rake and executive produced by Robert Zemeckis, "Manifest" follows passengers of a turbulent flight who discover that five and a half years have passed in the world while they were in the air, leading to a mysterious unfolding of events. The series was scheduled to return for its second season in early 2020.
Beyond acting, Luna is a passionate advocate for equal human rights, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community, and has partnered with GLAAD. She has stated, "Love has no labels, period." Luna is also a trained dancer, having studied Russian ballet for ten years. Additionally, she is a talented singer-songwriter, independently releasing three singles: "Over You" (2016), "Camera Roll" (2018), and "Secrets" (2018).
A keen observer of life and a private individual, Luna aims to direct and produce in the future. She aspires to collaborate with filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg, Angelina Jolie, and Guillermo Del Toro.
