Biography
Ashley Monique Menard is a Lafayette, Louisiana native who shed her Cajun accent for a standard American one at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and went on to deliver award-winning performances across comedy, horror, and drama. Hailing from a family of a World Book brand ambassador and a lumber salesman, she learned to sell as a kid and is now a New York-based actress, director, producer, writer, voiceover artist, and plus-size model. She is the creator, director, producer, and star of the scandalous YouTube mockumentary The Art of Blowing It, about 90s child star Emmy Hart as she wrestles with fear, second chances, and addiction. The film earned her Best Mockumentary at the New Jersey Web Fest and Best Comedy at the Minnesota Web Fest. Now in her sixth season filming the body-positive series Skeleton Crew, Ashley plays twins Polly and Piper and has directed several episodes. She can also be found in the award-winning series Step Into My Office as a female Harvey Weinstein, in Amazon Prime's Sketch Show The Egos, Amazon Prime's movie musical A Single Evening as Ms. Match, and Jasmine in BRIC TV's All Hail Beth. Her work has earned a string of honors: Best Supporting Actress at the Long Island International Film Festival for Brooklyn Butcher, Best Supporting Actress for Wasted on the Young as Opal, Best Actress in a Horror at the Asia Web Fest, and multiple awards for her role as the French sorceress Genevieve in Demon Doctor, along with countless nominations across the festival circuit. Ashley has performed Off-Broadway in Cuff Me: The 50 Shades of Grey Parody and toured the U.S. with Date Me, Do Me, Dump Me, available on iTunes. With her Adele tribute band, she has sung in nearly every club in New York City. Beyond AMDA, her training spans The Groundlings, Second City, the Upright Citizens Brigade, and The People's Improv Theater.
