Biography
Darren R Mann is an award winning, Emmy-nominated documentary and feature film director, story writer and editor. His films include "Arctic Void", a feature sci-fi/mystery shot in the arctic circle. It was chosen by The New York Times "Five Sci-Fi Films to Stream Now", and spent over 140 days on Prime’s Top 10 Films in 17 different countries; "This Cold Life" for Time Studios (Sundance.AMC) a feature documentary on the world’s northernmost town which won multiple Audience Awards at festivals around the world; "American Dream: Detroit", a feature documentary following legendary singer Michael Bolton as he looks at the remarkable economic comeback of Detroit (featuring Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin & Francis Ford Coppola); "State of Control" (Apple TV) which takes a daring first hand look at the China/Tibet crisis in the hi-tech age - garnering the attention of the Washington Post and Hollywood Reporter; "An Ox's Tale", a documentary on the legendary rock band, The Who. In addition to films, Darren has directed, produced and edited over 50 hours of broadcast television for such networks as Nat Geo, Discovery, FOX, VH-1, and ESPN, including a 20-episode animal conservation series, "Uncaged" for Discovery Int'l. His work has led him to such areas as Antarctica, Nepal, Africa, Europe, China, India, Tibet, The Arctic Circle, and the jungles of Borneo, Panama and Rwanda. He holds a degree in Film from Emerson College.
