Biography
R. Ward Duffy served as the onstage understudy for George Clooney as Edward R. Murrow and Paul Gross as William S. Paley in the Broadway production of Good Night And Good Luck. He is an actor best known for his role as Deputy Director John Van Leer on FBI and FBI: International. His television credits also include appearances on Law & Order: SVU, Shades of Blue, Blindspot, Madam Secretary, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife, and Blue Bloods.
His theatre work spans New York venues such as Manhattan Theatre Club, Lincoln Center, and Cherry Lane Theater, as well as regional theaters including The Old Globe, Denver Center Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, TheatreSquared, Marin Theatre Company, George Street Playhouse, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, Missouri Repertory Theatre, Hartford TheatreWorks, Indiana Repertory Theater, Portland Center Stage, Pioneer Theater, Virginia Stage Company, and Merrimack Repertory Theater.
A native of New England, he played baseball and rugby at Siena College, where he earned a BA in English. He holds an MFA in Acting from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory. He has been married to actress Henny Russell since 2004.
