Biography
Germán earned a master's degree from the American Film Institute, supported by a Fulbright scholarship, after graduating from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City with a major in Film Production.
He recently signed a deal with HIPPO Entertainment as Executive Producer to develop several TV series aimed at the Latino market in both Mexico and the USA.
Since 2018, he has worked as Line Producer on TV series including "La Reina Soy Yo" (Sony Entertainment/Teleset), "La Campaña" (Fox/Claro Video), "Herederos por Accidente" (Claro Video), and the pilot "Mariachis."
In 2018, he produced "Solo Respira," a horror film shot entirely in the Dominican Republic and directed by Félix Limardo.
From 2015 to 2018, he line produced various films and TV commercials, including "Treintona, Soltera y Fantástica," starring Latino star Bárbara Mori, which grossed 20 million USD at the Mexican box office; "Los Inquilinos," directed by Chava Cartas; and "Mis Planes son Amarte," the first Latin American video album by pop star Juanes.
In September 2012, his film "Suave Patria" topped the Mexican box office during its opening weekend. The film starred Omar Chaparro and Adrián Uribe, both prominent comedians in the Latino community. Pantelion distributed the film in the US.
His film "The Desert Within," directed by Rodrigo Plá, received 22 international awards, 8 Arieles (the Mexican Oscars), and was the closing film at La Semaine de la Critique at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
His professional credits also include roles as Line Producer and Production Manager on films by Alfonso Cuarón, cinematographer Emmanuel "Chivo" Lubezki's "Love in the Times of Hysteria," Carlos Carrera’s "La Mujer de Benjamín," Fernando Sariñana’s "Hasta Morir," and "Dama de Noche," directed by Eva López-Sánchez with cinematography by Rodrigo Prieto.
In television, he served as Executive Producer for Columbia-TriStar International Television on game shows such as "Mejores Amigos," "Des Haz Tres," "Apantállame," and "Russian Roulette" (produced in co-production with NBC) between 2000 and 2002.
He is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Fundación Lumiere, a foundation dedicated to promoting film education and producing unique films and documentaries.
