Biography
Born in Australia, Bianca Chiminello spent much of her early childhood training as a classical dancer. At 15, she was discovered by a modeling agency and within a year won the prestigious Ford Supermodel of the World Competition. She was flown to America, became an international finalist, and moved to New York City with the Ford agency to pursue a modeling career. While modeling across Europe, she collaborated with top designers such as Armani, Moschino, Escada, and Hussein Chalayan. She also graced the pages of leading magazines including British Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, Elle, and Marie Claire, quickly becoming a recognizable international face. Back in Australia, Bianca secured the Australian Levi’s campaign, appeared in the country’s top publications, and opened for numerous Australian designers during Mercedes Australian Fashion Week. During this period, she enrolled in a dramatic arts college, taking three years away from modeling to train as an actor. She performed on stage in productions including Electra, The Three Sisters, Dangerous Liaisons, Twelfth Night, Under Milk Wood, and Snow Angel. Thanks to her international modeling exposure, Bianca appeared on programs such as E! News (Australian Edition) and Looking Good while continuing her studies.
In 2000, Bianca began her professional acting career; within the year, she appeared as a semi-regular on the critically acclaimed science fiction series Farscape (1999). She subsequently worked on TV productions like The Lost World (1999) and BeastMaster (1999). Due to the international distribution of these shows, Bianca gained access to overseas markets; she is now based in Los Angeles and continues to work as a professional actress. Her popularity in these American productions has led to numerous fan events across the country. Her growing fame has also attracted the fashion world again. International designer Jeremy Scott was the first to bring her back into the fashion spotlight when she appeared in his 2003 summer collection.
