Biography
Eva Herzigová is a Czech supermodel and actress who launched her modeling career at sixteen after winning a beauty contest in Prague in 1989. She was part of Thomas Zeumer's Metropolitan Models agency. Her fame grew after moving to Paris, with her breakthrough being the model for the first Wonderbra campaign. In 1994, advertising executive Trevor Beattie of TBWA/London created the iconic "Hello Boys" Wonderbra ad for Sara Lee, featuring a close-up of Herzigová wearing a black Wonderbra and the simple phrase "Hello boys." This influential poster was displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and ranked tenth in a "Poster of the Century" contest. The Canadian lingerie brand aimed to position the Wonderbra as a cosmetic and beauty enhancer rather than just functional underwear. The billboard was named the most iconic outdoor ad of the past fifty years by the Outdoor Media Centre in 2011. Herzigová also appeared in campaigns for Guess? jeans, the Victoria's Secret catalog, and Sports Illustrated. She has graced the covers of numerous international fashion magazines, including various editions of Vogue (France, Britain, Spain, Germany, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Poland, Turkey, Thailand), Harper's Bazaar (Britain, Spain, Ukraine, Italy, Australia), Elle, Marie Claire, Numéro, and Allure. Her runway experience includes walking for designers such as Louis Vuitton, Benedetta Dubini, Giles Deacon, Emilio Pucci, and Versace.
Among her recent endeavors, Herzigová starred in Imagine Fashion’s art film Decadent Control with Roberto Cavalli, showcasing designs from Agent Provocateur and H&M. She appeared in the August 2004 issue of Playboy and portrayed Venus during the 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. In 2016, she participated in campaigns for Giorgio Armani and Dior Beauty.
