Biography

Pernille Kaae Høier was born on May 9, 1991, in Hørsholm, Denmark. She is recognized for her roles in Try Hard (2021), Pros and Cons (2018), and Oskar & Josefine (2005).

Pernille began acting at the age of six, landing her first role in the feature film "Når mor kommer hjem," directed by the acclaimed Lone Scherfig. In the following years, she starred in the lead roles of the children's TV shows "Super Sofie" and "Åh Yrsa" on DR1. Her breakthrough came in 2003 when she was cast as the lead in the Christmas TV series "Jesus og Josefine," which aired daily throughout December on national television. For this role, Pernille received a Bodil Award nomination for Best Actress. In 2004, she led the follow-up feature film "Oscar og Josefine," which was nominated for a Robert Award for Best Children's Movie. While completing high school, she continued acting, appearing as a member of a girl band in TV2's "Store Drømme" (2009), a supporting role in Charlotte Sachs Bostrup's "Outsider" (TV2, 2012), and an eyewitness in the short film "Panser" from Super16 (2010).

After finishing high school, Pernille focused on drama training with experienced directors and renowned actors. During this period, she took on various roles, including a young mother in Susanne Bier's award-winning "A Second Chance" and a supporting part in the popular TV series "Anton90." She recently completed filming a new TV show about the LGBTQ community, set to air on TV2 Play in early 2019. Additionally, she was nominated for Best Actress at CPH WEB FEST 2018 for her role in the independent web series "Porno Leif.
