Biography
Suzana is a Voice Arts Awards-nominated American voice actress born just outside of Hamburg, Germany, and raised in suburban Chicago. She has done voiceover work for companies such as Uber, Amazon, L.L.Bean, Coca-Cola, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Panda Express, Johnson & Johnson, Square, and Lockheed Martin, just to name a few. She is also known for her work on the popular YouTube channel, Cartoon Hooligans.
Suzana spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Morton Grove and Oak Lawn, Illinois. She also lived for two years near Split, Croatia, where she attended fifth and sixth grade, gaining a unique perspective from both American and Croatian cultures. In junior high and high school, she participated in theater productions, her high school's a cappella choir, and the forensics speech team. She also performed in local community theater productions.
Before becoming a voice actor, she spent nearly two decades working a wide variety of jobs, including positions at a trucking company, in a warehouse, as a bartender, travel agent, beeper salesperson, radio promotions coordinator, global insurance clerical assistant, and at the American Dental Association. Along the way, she returned to college for several semesters in her mid-twenties and early thirties, studying acting at Columbia College Chicago, pursuing general studies coursework at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, and taking improv and acting classes at The Second City. Though her professional path took many unexpected turns, her desire for creative expression, autonomy, and a career outside the traditional nine-to-five never faded.
In her late thirties, she packed up and left Chicago for Los Angeles with little more than determination, few connections, and no promise of a steady income. Shortly after arriving, she found work as a corporate receptionist for a large dental organization in the Brentwood neighborhood of L.A. before joining Highland Hall Waldorf School in the San Fernando Valley in an administrative support role.
During this time, Suzana hustled while also working as a background actor in dozens of television shows and films, auditioning, training, and pursuing opportunities throughout Los Angeles. Her persistence paid off when she earned SAG-AFTRA eligibility three years after arriving in the city. Los Angeles also marked another life-changing milestone: she met her husband there.
