Biography
BJ Davis is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Producers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, and Screen Actors Guild. He produced the award-winning and controversial documentary feature "Top Priority: The Terror Within," which premiered at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on May 16, 2012. The film, released theatrically in New York and Los Angeles, received a Best Picture award for highlighting government whistleblower retaliation against his wife, Julia Davis, a former Customs and Border Protection federal agent.
BJ serves as an Executive Producer, Producer, Director, and Screenwriter, consistently delivering film and television projects on or under budget. Known for being bondable and bankable, he brings extensive experience as a guild signatory with top entertainment industry unions. He holds a degree in Communications and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Inducted into the Hollywood Stuntman Hall of Fame, BJ has worked as a stunt double for five Academy Award winners: Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Tommy Lee Jones, Michael Caine, and Art Carney. He holds two enduring world records: a high fall from a helicopter into the ocean from 180 feet, and an aerial neck suspension beneath a helicopter traveling at 70 mph at 1,000 feet for 20 minutes, covering the flight from Universal Studios to the Santa Monica Pier.
BJ directed Brandon Lee, son of the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee, in his first feature film, launching Brandon into the spotlight. He has worked as a Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director alongside box office icons such as Clint Eastwood and Oliver Stone. BJ has appeared in numerous Star Trek productions, including "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" as the character Yeoman Burke, and the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" television series. Paramount Pictures has used his likeness as Yeoman Burke in merchandise and other venues.
Committed to the Screen Actors Guild, BJ served as secretary to Charlton Heston and Robert Conrad. His advocacy helped secure contractual representation for stunt coordinators and halted a SAG classification system that would have restricted opportunities for women and minorities in stunt work. BJ founded the National League of SAG Stunt Performers and has served as a SAG Safety Representative and Legal Expert.
BJ and his wife, Julia Davis, a National Security, Counter-Terrorism, and Immigration Expert, are civil and human rights activists and whistleblowers. They have exposed fraud, waste, government and judicial corruption, and retaliation, publicly confronting organized crime elements after Julia was targeted by the Department of Homeland Security, NSA, IRS, and others for her protected disclosures regarding a national security breach on July 4, 2004, at the US/Mexico border in San Ysidro, CA.
Together, BJ and Julia Davis founded Fleur De Lis Film Studios. BJ is the former President of this full-service international production and distribution company specializing in feature films, TV series, videos, and documentaries.
