Biography
Karole Rocher (born 4 July 1974) is a French actress renowned for her portrayal of Roxane Delgado in the French TV series Braquo.
Raised in Sartrouville, near Paris, Karole Rocher spent her childhood with her father and summers with her mother in a Corsican village. At 16, she worked night shifts as a waitress until she was discovered by Princess Erika's circle. Her acting career started in 1995 when she appeared alongside Romain Duris in a music video for Princess Erika's song "Faut qu’j'travaille," directed by Olivier Dahan. In 1997, she met director Sylvie Verheyde and made her film debut as Virginie in Un frère. The following year, she landed her first leading role in Rachid Bouchareb's L'Honneur de ma famille, acting alongside Roschdy Zem. She collaborated again with Zem in the 2000 film Sauve-moi and continued working with Verheyde in Princesses (2000), Amour de Femme (2001), Scorpion (2007), Stella (2008), and Confession of a Child of the Century (2011). In 2009, she secured a lead role as Lieutenant Roxane Delgado in the police series Braquo, created by Olivier Marchal, featuring Jean-Hugues Anglade, Nicolas Duvauchelle, and Joseph Malerba. In 2011, her portrayal of Chrys in the film Poliss earned her a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
At 19, Karole took in Thierno, a neglected seven-year-old boy, raising him as her own son. Thierno is now a fashion stylist and photographer. Karole is also mother to two daughters from different fathers: Barbara, born in 1996, and Gina, born in 2002. She maintains close friendships with actors Nicolas Duvauchelle, whom she met on Braquo, and JoeyStarr, whom she met during Le bal des actrices and through Poliss. Karole is married to Thomas Ngijol, a French-Cameroonian actor, and they have two daughters together.
