Biography
Peter Lohmeyer, born on January 22, 1962, in Niedermarsberg, is a German actor who has appeared in over one hundred films since 1980.
He is the youngest of three children born to Dieter Lohmeyer, a Protestant pastor, and his wife. Due to his father's vocation, Peter attended schools in various locations: Albrecht-Dürer-Gymnasium in Hagen (1972-1974), Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart (1974-1976), and Stadtgymnasium Dortmund (1976-1981). Between 1982 and 1984, he studied acting at the Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum but left without completing the program.
Lohmeyer made his stage debut in the play "Was heißt hier Liebe" at Schauspielhaus Bochum. He subsequently performed at theaters in Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Hamburg, and Berlin’s Schiller Theater. In 2009, he returned to Schauspielhaus Bochum for a new production of "Menschen im Hotel." His first television role was in the 1983 TV movie "Der Kampfschwimmer," followed by a part in "Alles Paletti." Lohmeyer’s film debut came in 1988 with the comedy "Tiger, Löwe, Panther." He gained recognition through the TV series "Die Straßen von Berlin" (1995-1998) and the film "The Miracle of Bern" (Das Wunder von Bern, 2003), directed by Sönke Wortmann. He also starred in several films by director Peter Lichtefeld, including the road movie "Trains'n'Roses," which earned him a German Film Award. In 2005, he appeared in Lars Jessen’s "Am Tag als Bobby Ewing starb." Lohmeyer received the German Film Award in Gold for "Trains'n'Roses" and was awarded the Bavarian TV Award in 2000 for "Der Elefant in meinem Bett."
He has four children from two relationships. With his former partner, camera assistant Katrin Klamroth, he has three children: Lola, Louis, and Leila Lynn Klamroth. His fourth child, a son named Ivo Lohmeyer, is from another relationship. From 2008 until July 2014, he was married to Sarah Wiener.
