Biography
Stephen Lentini is a director, writer, and producer with a diverse background in television, film, and commercial filmmaking. He began his career at MTV in New York City and has since worked with major networks such as FOX, FOX Sports, TLC, Lifetime, Spike, NBC, Oxygen, and Nickelodeon. As a commercial director, he has worked on high-profile campaigns for brands like Walmart, BMW, Volkswagen, and Qantas Airlines.
Stephen wrote, directed, and produced The Blessing and the Curse, a powerful documentary that delves into a terrorist attack in the disputed West Bank, exploring the intersection of religion and violence.
In 2018, he directed the acclaimed narrative short film Theo's Trade, which received recognition at several film festivals. The film tells the story of a disillusioned news reporter who, after fleeing a racially charged situation in Chicago, returns to his Southern hometown. There, he takes part in slave re-enactments to challenge the negative portrayal of Black men in the media.
Prior to that, Stephen Executive Produced and wrote two acclaimed documentaries. The first, The Glacier Project, follows two Big Wave surfers as they take on one of the world's most dangerous waves, formed by melting glaciers due to global warming. The second, North Canyon, which aired globally on FUEL TV and National Geographic, documents Big Wave Surfer Garrett Macnamara's daring attempt to surf a 100-foot wave in Portugal, laying the foundation for the iconic 100-Foot Wave documentary series.
