Biography
Joshua Fardon, born in Kansas City and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, studied at Northwestern University and earned an MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama.
His acting career includes performances at venues such as The Public, Classic Stage Company, Williamstown, The Ahmanson, Yale Rep, The Old Globe, South Coast Playhouse, The Mark Taper Forum, and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
He voiced Luke Skywalker in the Lucasfilm/NPR recording of Return of the Jedi. His film and television work includes roles in Chicago Fire, Conspiracy Theory, Volcano, The West Wing, and Frasier.
Josh is a three-time O'Neill semi-finalist and a member of WGA East, The Dramatists Guild, SAG-AFTRA, and AEA.
He founded the Chicago branch of The Naked Angels Theatre Company and was its Creative Director for seven years. He currently serves as a Resident Playwright and Artistic Director at Chicago Dramatists.
His plays include Sadie Hurtz (Next Stage Press); The Condition (produced at The Annoyance Theatre, Chicago and Naked Angels Theatre Co., Los Angeles); The Burning of Kenneth Carrion (Benchmark Theatre Fever Dream Festival, Chicago); Do Not Disturb; Shake; This Contract Limits Our Liability - Read It! (Theatre of NOTE, Los Angeles); and Miss Henrietta Stralson (Yale Cabaret).
His one-act plays and short musicals have been staged in Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, and Fort Lauderdale. His short films Tenant and Shattered Bits were official selections at danceswithfilms.
As a composer, he scored the film Adopt a Sailor, the Los Angeles production of Ruth Margraff's Stadium Devildare, Ken Roht's The Birds, and his own work, A Cult Musical.
