Robert A. Palmer is a celebrated American filmmaker, television producer, writer, podcaster, and author whose career has evolved alongside the shifting entertainment landscape. Skilled in producing network television, directing indie films, crafting award-winning audio dramas, writing books, and creating original comedy, Palmer has spent over twenty years storytelling across nearly every medium.
He started in unscripted television, working on a wide range of notable series such as The Curse of Oak Island, Expedition X, Hell's Kitchen, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Naturally, Danny Seo, My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, and many other documentary and reality shows. His projects have taken him across the U.S. and internationally, often in challenging settings, where he's earned a reputation for uncovering compelling characters and authentic moments.
In 2015, Palmer wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning independent feature I Am Alone, a found-footage survival thriller that gained festival acclaim and global distribution, establishing him as an indie filmmaker capable of delivering ambitious stories on limited budgets.
As storytelling formats evolved, Palmer expanded beyond traditional film and TV. He created The Potchki Audio Chronicles, an award-winning audio fiction series combining comedy, nostalgia, and serialized adventure. The series’ success led to appearances at fan conventions, including a featured panel at Fan Expo Philadelphia 2022, where he spoke about independent storytelling and the rise of audio entertainment.
Pursuing new creative paths, Palmer co-created, co-wrote, and co-directed The Swiss Traveller: The Great American Road Trip in America, a cross-country mockumentary featuring an eccentric Swiss tourist exploring the U.S. with childlike wonder.
