Biography
Chris Richards (SAG name Christopher Paul Richards) was born in New York City and follows the path of his parents, who have appeared in numerous Broadway productions, feature films, and network TV series.
In 2018, ABC cast Chris as Joey Cleary, a series regular in Tim Doyle's fall sitcom "The Kids Are Alright," starring alongside Michael Cudlitz and Mary McCormack. In 2017, Chris made his network primetime debut as Justin, a series regular on CBS's fall sitcom "Me, Myself & I," acting with Bobby Moynihan and John Larroquette. Recently, Chris completed over 500 performances in "Finding Neverland" on Broadway—one of the longest runs by a boy in a single role in Broadway history—performing with Matthew Morrison and Kelsey Grammer. While attending the Professional Performing Arts School in NYC full-time (alumni include Claire Danes, Jesse Eisenberg, Alicia Keys), Chris appeared in 12 of the first 24 episodes of Showtime’s hit series "Billions," co-starring as Damian Lewis's son, Dean Axelrod. During this period, he was also cast as the lead in Warner Bros.' pre-Broadway workshops for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as Charlie, alongside Tony winner Christian Borle, and played Walter in "Second Hand Lions" with James Naughton and Tom Wopat.
Other credits include a co-starring role in NBC's 2017 season of "Law & Order: SVU" with Ice T and Mariska Hargitay, and portraying Donn Marston in "Professor Marston and the Wonder Women," alongside Luke Evans and Rebecca Hall. Chris's voice can be heard singing one of TV’s most recognizable theme songs on the HBO/PBS "Sesame Street." He has performed at the White House for a TLC TV special and appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC, as well as on ABC's "Good Morning America" and various other shows.
Chris is also an amateur magician skilled in over 50 card tricks. Special skills include karate (brown belt), ukulele (performed on Broadway in "Finding Neverland"), accents (Irish, New York, and British, the latter performed in over 500 Broadway shows), archery, baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, swimming, diving, trampoline (including flips front and back), rollerblading, ice skating, hip hop, and stage combat.
