Biography
**Diego Salazar Cely ("Yarawy")** is a Colombian filmmaker, writer, and director whose work explores love, reconciliation, healing, identity, consciousness, and the unseen forces that shape human behavior. His films bridge psychological depth, emotional truth, and cinematic storytelling, creating stories that invite both personal reflection and collective transformation.
He studied Film and Photography in Bogotá, Colombia, before moving to the United States in 2004, where he built a career in television, commercial, and film production as a Director of Photography.
In 2009, he wrote the award-winning short film *I Didn't Know Who I Was*, which received six awards and eleven international nominations. He later wrote and directed *Love Buzz*, winner of Best Drama at the National Film Challenge. His stage production *All the Same but Different* was recognized as one of the year's notable theatrical works, and his short film *Mr. Insatiable* was selected for the Miami Short Film Festival.
Alongside his filmmaking career, Diego has spent more than a decade studying and working professionally in human behavior, family systems, meditation, art therapy, and consciousness. This exploration has become a defining influence on his artistic voice, inspiring stories that examine the invisible patterns shaping individuals, families and society.
He is currently developing his debut feature film, continuing his commitment to cinema as a space for emotional truth, human connection and meaningful transformation.
